Road Trip!! What should I do?
I’m going on a road trip with some new college friends for a concert and intercollegiate competition to another university. Its an 8 hour drive one way and about 20 people are going. My cousin who goes to another college wants to come with me. My cousin and I are close. We used to go to school together for 8 years. Then i transferred from the college she currently goes to, to my new current one. I’m still trying to kind of fit in and establish myself there. I don’t know if I want her coming along on such a long ride with us. I want to bond with my new friends and she may inhibit that as she tends to be very clingy to new people especially if she knows that I may not want her to be that way with my friends. On the other hand, it may be nice to have her there since I am still new to the group. At least I’ll have someone there. Should I take my cousin with me? or should i say there is no space? I want her to meet everyone eventually but idk if this long trip is the right time. What do you think? I can add more details if you have questions.
Leave her home, because you’re right. This is YOUR time to get to know these people. And even if they suck, (that’ll be bad esp since its a long trip) you’ve had your experience and now you know about them. The worst thing that can happen is that they could turn out to be really bad people and you wish that your cousin is there. If she was, it be nicer but wouldn’t take away from the fact that you still have to ride back with those "bad" people. And I’m not implying that you’re trying to make friends with all 20 people (I dont know your business) but out of 20 people…someone should be cool enough to hang with the whole trip.
